What is The Red Curtain Experience?
The Red Curtain Experience is a premium open-air photo booth with a luxurious velvet curtain backdrop, studio-style lighting, unlimited instant prints, and the option to have a professional portrait photographer direct and take each shot for the ultimate guest experience. Choose your favourite shots to print in your favourite format.
Why do the photos look so ridiculously good?!
The camera is a professional DSLR with a high quality fixed length lens. The lighting uses pro grade battery strobes and shapers.
The booth was designed by commercial photographer Jonathon Griggs, who brings over 20 years of experience capturing people at their best. That expertise is built into every frame.
What print formats do you offer?
We provide:
Classic Strip (2x8", 4 shots per strip)
2x2 Postcard (4”x6”, 4 shots per print)
2 up Polaroid -Perforated (4x6", splits into 2 3”x4" prints – option of duplicate or 2 different photos)
The perforated format is 2 cute polaroid stye instant photos that split in two along a perforation. Perfect for guestbooks or sharing a copy with friends.
Can our custom designs be included on the prints?
Yes! Custom designed prints are part of any package so let us know what you’re thinking and we can make it happen.
How long can we book the photo booth for?
We offer 3-hour, 4-hour, and 5-hour packages. Each package includes setup, an attendant, unlimited prints, and access to all our print formats. Custom timings are also available upon request.
What’s the difference between the standard booth and the photographer-directed option?
Our standard setup offers an automated booth with premium lighting and prints.
The photographer-directed upgrade brings in a professional portrait photographer to guide each group or individual for the most flattering and expressive shots — think red carpet meets candid charm.
Can we choose our curtain colour?
Yes! While the red curtain is our signature look, we’re happy to offer other colours upon request to suit your event’s theme or aesthetic. Just ask when enquiring.
3. Do we need to provide power for the booth?
No! The Red Curtain Experience is fully portable and doesn’t need mains power to operate for up to 5 hours. This makes it the perfect option for outdoor events or venues without easy access to electricity.
Do guests get physical prints?
Absolutely — we offer unlimited prints during your booking. Everyone in the photo can take home a copy, and we can also create a guestbook on-site with matching prints.
Do we receive digital copies?
Yes. After your event, you’ll receive a digital gallery with all the images, beautifully edited and ready to download and share.
Where do you operate?
We are based in Melbourne and service the surrounding areas. Travel outside Melbourne is possible — just let us know the location for a custom quote.
Is an attendant included?
Yes, a friendly and professional booth attendant is always present to ensure everything runs smoothly and guests have a great experience.
